Three Things Thursday

Three things I worry about...

1.  My son.  My son.  My son.  The latest problem at school can be explained my his new daily goal, "I did not have potty problems today."  I will save him the embarrassment of sharing the details on the world wide web.

2.  Georgia's brows and lashes are invisible.  Very worrisome.

3.  How do I continue to meet the needs of my eldest daughter (rapidly approaching adolescence) while still keeping up with the younger children?  Who gets to do which activities?  Who will miss out?  Can I spread myself thinner to meet all these demands?

Three Things I don't worry about...

1.  Saying "no" to outside demands.  I am past the point of experiencing guilt for what I just cannot do.  In fact, I said "no" today and felt very good about it.  (Even though I know it made me look like a cop-out to others involved.)  But I just don't care like I may have years ago.

2.  The state of our basement (as pictured here after a week of untouched play.)  Usually every 8-10 days we go down and clean it up together, more for the sake of the children, as they don't like to play down there when things get too out of sorts.  Other than that, it's a play room and looks played in.

3.  Making sure my kids get on the bus on time.  I've decided it is better to have a morning without yelling and frantic running about than to always make sure they are on the bus.  If they don't get out the door on time for the bus, I simply drive them to school.  I'm a Stay-at-Home Mom, for Pete's sake.  If I can't drive my children to school once in while then what's the point!

Ditto on the bus philosophy. And guess what our upstairs playroom looks like? Just like your basement (which just looks normal and loved to me).

I have basement envy.
